Maybe its me but for some reason I thought this was a replacement piece for the grill grates BUT it rests on TOP of the grates.... Also keeping the grill at a set temperature is tough. If you close the lid the grill will be like 600 degrees ... so leave the top open but keeping the grill at 375-400 for any length of time will be hard. The grill itself is nice , good quality. it was smaller than I thought about 2/3 of the q 100 grill space and rests on top of the grates.. using a laser thermometer I measured different temps on the grill depending on what side your on the middle was hotter than the sides , etc... so if your grilling you may need to splash water on the grill to get it down to temp if it heats too much up on you.... quick cleanup. pretty heavy.

Griddle covers about 2/3 of grill's grate surface. Why so small? Leaves room togrill items (like scallops or kebobs) while you cook something needing support like fish on the griddle. good surface and seasoned easily.
