I can't really comment on the performance of this fan in that my purchase was delivered with one non-working fan. In hindsight, I should have read the other reviews that mention the poorly working motors, but I took a chance. In terms of quality and durability, I would not recommend this fan, and this model seemed to be one of the best regarded models on Amazon. I'm now at a loss to find a better item to replace this one, but Honeywell is not in the running...

This fan moves a heck of a lot more air than old Holmes twin window fan. Best thing of all is the adjustable grilles, which can direct airflow from either fan. This way, I can have one fan directing air over my bed and another directing air up into the room. Only few minor issues to note. The fans are fairly loud past the low setting and it may disturb light sleepers. Personally, I think it sounds like a blimp with its low-frequency hum. Also be aware that the fan is rather large and bulky. It didn't fit my double-hung window perfectly (accordion expanders were a bit wider than I thought) but I was able to manage. Finally, you'll need to run the fan for a good hour to get rid of a weird plastic odor it emits due to its packaging. All in all, it's a good fan that will make summer nights just a bit more bearable.

Do not buy this product. The left fan simply failed after 1 hour of use. When I went back and read the reviews more closely, I realized that this has happened to many people. This is obviously a quality control problem that has not been addressed. If I add the cost of my time and the shipping charges it is not worth returning. Save yourself the hassle and go to a local store if you are going to purchase one of these inexpensive fans. If it fails, you can just bring it back.
