I was excited to receive this ALL CLAD slow cooker. It arrived. I made 3 wonderful roasts. And then, like another review, in the middle of cooking, the electrical unit failed. Just like the other review - the electrical read out all turned to 8's - and just stopped. Arghhh! Nothing worse than being in the middle of an 8 hour slow cook - and have it stop. And unfortunately, Amazon's return on this is up within weeks. I have called All Clad's customer service line. They are to give me a call back. I will keep you posted on the details of this return. But so far, it looks like several of us are having the same electrical problems. CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION in purchasing! (updates to come later...)

This is an expensive piece of garbage. The ceramic liner cracks easily. Had it less than 30 days before it cracked. No mishandling. Replacement liners aren't available. All-Clad doesn't have them (they'll call me if and when they become available). For this much money you'd expect quality. My old Crockpot never cracked. And I had it for 20 years. This was supposed to be an upgrade. Instead I wasted my money. Don't you do the same.

I loved the slow cooker... until the ceramic insert cracked! I was hearing little popping noises and didn't know what it was. Then I realized that the the insert had cracks! All Clad wanted the original receipt to replace it, so we took it back to bed bath and beyond and they exchanged it. The second time we just out right returned it. The cracks all happened within 3 months of use with no extreme temperature change William sonomas is recommending that we try the more expensive one with the heat-responsive cast-aluminum insert that functions as a cookware in itself (can go on the stove top)... a hundred dollars more!! but may consider it since it got really much better reviews. Btw, WS told us that many are reporting the same cracked issue with the ceramic insert and everyone has been thrilled with the heat-responsive cast-aluminum insert one... go figure...
