A true “steam cleaner” is a device that utilizes dry steam to clean. Many people mistakenly think that a steam carpet cleaner is a steam cleaner. A steam carpet cleaner, however, uses cleaning solution and hot water to clean carpets. Some of these hot water vacuums may use steam to clean as well. They are, however, not true steam cleaners.

These vacuums can remove dirt from deep within your carpet. It can also remove tough stains and strong odors. These carpets are usually fairly heavy because they need to carry some amount of water and cleaning solution.
Steam carpet cleaners are not as eco-friendly as a true steam cleaner because steam carpet cleaners often use solutions that are not good for the environment. Try shopping for an eco-friendly carpet solution if you decide to clean your carpets with a steam carpet cleaner.
