This crate has been great for use by our Labrador puppy. The crate divider is excellent for changing the size of the crate as she grows. She is a heavy, strong little girl, and she is teething, so she can destroy most toys within a few minutes. She has chewed on the door repeatedly and it has not even bent slightly. The man who runs my local shelter uses one for his pitbull, who has chewed his way out of every other crate EXCEPT this one, which was why he recommended it to us. Our puppy also likes to dig in absolutely everything... the carpet, her current bed, dirt, etc., and she has tried to dig her way out of the plastic tray on the bottom of the crate, to no avail. The scratches barely even show up in the plastic. As an added bonus, the brand that makes this crate also makes machine-washable pet beds that fit their crates perfectly. The pet beds have plenty of cushioning while still being washable, which I love.

My recently adopted 55-pound Boxer mix figured out how to escape from this crate after two times in it. We tried using a little lock to keep the door closed because we didn't want to toss it out after spending so much. The lock kept the door closed, but continuing to use this product was a big mistake--the handle in the top of the kennel broke and my dog's head got scratched up. I would not recommend this product to anyone whose dog shows any interest in escaping since it probably won't hold up. What a disappointment--the reason we got the kennel in the first place was to keep our dog safe when we're gone. How sad that his safe place caused him harm. *update* We got a brand new plastic clamshell kennel with no handles or sharp spots that might hurt our dog. So far he really loves it; we leave the door open when we're home and he goes in there on his own to take naps and chew on his toys--something he never did with the wire crate. He also doesn't get nearly as anxious when he's closed in it and doesn't appear to have tried to escape yet. Maybe the more "den-like" appearance of the plastic crate makes him feel more secure. In the end I think that, like people, different dogs have different needs. This crate just wasn't a good match for our dog.

I'm not sure if this is exactly the same measurement we have, ours if for a 90 lb dog. We keep our 16 lb dog in it during the day. It is easy to clean, sturdy, and the doors close easily. We found a clip on water bowl at a pet store, got a dog bed from Target, and she was set. I feel confident I can leave her in this crate, go to work, and she'll be safe and comfortable. We do have a plastic sheet under it in case of spills; it is on our carpet in the living room. This is a great product. I read the other review that said a dog demolished it. The crate seems very sturdy and well constructed, but our dog is small. She did manage to drag a kennel across the garage so she isn't a weakling, but I don't know if a bigger dog would be able to destroy this crate. We haven't had any problems and nothing has been bent, broken or otherwise destroyed.
