Portmeirion Holly and Ivy Sandwich Tray with Handles

Large enough at 15-inches by 7-inches to hold many sandwiches, this convenient tray with a gracefully-belt serving handle at each end is also a suitable way to carry jams and jellies, sugar and cream, or condiments to the holiday table. White with rich red and green holly and ivy, the tray's center is ringed with the lyrics to an ancient English carol: The holly and the ivy, when they are both full grown, of all the trees that are in the woods the holly bears the crown. The handles at each side are large enough for easy grasping--the delicate curl even fits the shape of arched fingers--but not so large as to steal unnecessary table space. Portmeirion's Holly and Ivy pattern was designed by second-generation Portmeirion designer Anwyl Cooper-Willis in 1996 as a contemporary arrangement of antique illustrations with a flowing script of a lyric from the 17th Century English carol it's named after. The design and script are hand-painted on high-quality earthenware, and the tray is safe in the freezer, microwave, and dishwasher--making clean-up a breeze.
