We purchased this toaster for our family after having some very bad experiences with other toasters. This toaster is working fine for us. We are a family of 5 so we needed a toaster that could accommodate 4 slices of bread at one time. We find that the the two large slots are much better than four smaller ones simply because we are able to toast different kinds of bread simultaneously. We also buy bread that is longer than a standard toaster slot so the long slots make toasting this kind of bread very simple. The darkness/lightness knob works well and once I learned my personal preference it was a snap to produce toast to each person's taste. The bagel, warm, and frozen buttons also work very satisfactorily. Overall, we are very satisfied with this toaster's performance. I would recommend it to my friends and family.

I've had my 2-slice Oster toaster (red) for about 3-4 years. No problems until yesterday. It wouldn't pop up and the cancel button didn't work so I unplugged it and it popped up. Today I put something in the toaster and walked away to do something. (I know, I know.) The fire alarm sounded. Flames had reached the ceiling. I'll have to have at least two cabinet doors and trim replaced, and the wall resurfaced. I won't buy another Oster toaster. I would not recommend it. I consider myself lucky. It could have been worse.

This is a great looking toaster and we were excited to find it - however I wish I had read these review on Amazon before purchasing - because it's the worst functioning toaster I've ever used. Some areas of the bread get burned while other areas aren't even toasted. I've definitely a miss-step by Oster and we are very disappointed and you will be too if you buy this.
