I have had this french oven for 13 years and it looks just as good as when I first opened it. the enameled cast iron construction is superior for cooking everything from turkey to pot roast. the enamel keeps food flavors pure and makes clean up a snap. I do keep the lid and the pan in felt covers and use baking soda to clean. I hand wash and dry this item. this really is a life time investment and well worth the price.

I love this it is indispensable for entertaining. I make huge batches of stew in this and freeze them in portions. It heats wonderfully. Like any of their stuff it takes a long while for it to heat up but when it does it keeps its heat. Word of warning don't use metal spoons or it will scrape the bottom. The cleaner that you can buy for it is a must and it brings it up beautifully. Also it is very heavy especially when full and it does require a bit of strength to move it from oven etc. this size is great if you entertain a lot or make batches of things. I use this size the most and I have a few of different sizes. I didn't pay this price, though its not a bad one, I go to an outlet store to the le creuset store, get one slightly imperfect then wait for a sale.
