If you are reading these reviews, then you are probably just like me. For years, I pined for one of these. I would look longingly at Sur la Table, but I'd always leave empty handed, because let's face it. This pot is expensive. I finally got one, and now I feel like an idiot for not getting one sooner, because these pots are amazing to cook in. AMAZING. I have this one, but if you are the kind of person who likes to roast a bird or make soup that lasts a week, get the 5 1/2 Qt. I also like the red/orange ones, because I am a sucker for the "original" anything. Classic wins! You can brown a pot roast, then saute the onions on the stovetop, then put it all back in the oven to finish. After dinner, put the whole thing back in the fridge. After you devour the roast, you can put the pot right back on the stove, and use those good brown bits to start a stew. It's lovely! Stovetop to oven to fridge, back to stovetop. If you like to make b??arnaise, it's perfection. The pot cooks very evenly, the thick bottom allows long cook times without burning. And here's the kicker: this thing is GREAT for making stovetop rice. The heavy lid allows it to steam, and you can turn the heat up at the end to get crunchy rice on the bottom, which doesn't burn OR stick! Also, it's easy to clean, I have never needed to bust out the elbow grease, and I use this every week. Lesson learned: It seems expensive now, but it has a lifetime guarantee. My friend had an old one with chipped enamel. She sent it back and is now the proud owner of a brand new pot. So it's not expensive if it LASTS forever. Buying things that last is less expensive in the long run, and quality really does matter. So if you like to cook, do yourself a favor and get this, don't wait a million years like I did.

I wish that I could afford this entire set. I love this pot .. my husband got me the 5Qt for Christmas and if I'm lucky I'll continue to get more pieces through different holidays. Perfect if you love to cook!

Love Le Creuset pots. We own several. Nothing like it for beans, stews, brown rice and baking in the oven. They are quite pricey but hold up for decades if properly cared for. Hear there are knock-offs from Rachel Ray and Martha Stewart. Much less eapensive but haven't tried any.
