I don't have this mixer, but I assume it's great. I'm only posting a review to counter the 1 star review from someone else who also doesn't have this mixer, but decided to rate it poorly because she has some "challenges" knowing how to order things from Amazon. I do wish Amazon would find a mechanism to delete reviews that skew a product's star rating for reasons having nothing to do with the product. Until then, I'll take some satisfaction in "vigilante" counter-voting.

I ordered this with the "quick buy" button by mistake & realized it was going to the last person I bought something for.My son who lives in Portland Or. I ordered this Kitchenaid for my daughter who lives in NY. I IMMEDIATELY called & emailed to cancel. WELL..............they told me they could only cancel once it reached UPS???? They debited my account on March 6th. On March 17th (!) I checked the tracking record. It went all the way to Portland & was to be received the 17th back to the shipper. They finally credited my account for 21.00 less than I purchased it!!!!!!! What a mess. I had to email again to tell of the error.......... Seems like there is definitely a waste of manpower, expense, & time in this process. You out there need to change this!!!!!!!! ALOT of $ is being wasted. Not to mention the aggravation.

I own this KitchenAid model, and it is the second KA mixer I have owned. This model does a good job, and was a great replacement to my older model K45 of 30+ years. To me, the splash shield is indispensible for adding liquids, which tend to splash out, even at lower speeds. I would never be without my KitchenAid mixer, and it has helped out with cookie dough, decorator cake frostings, breads, quick breads, cakes, and anything else that needs a thorough mixing. The planetary action cannot be beat for efficiency.
