This is our second KitchenAid crockpot. The first pot cracked after about three months of use (we used it twice a month or so) it was replaced with no questions asked; great customer service! Fast forward to today: I just put dinner in the new pot, plugged it in, turned it on to low and after about 45 minutes heard a loud pop and then sizzling as the liquid dripped out of the crack and into the heating element. I strongly advise against purchasing this crockpot. Not only is it a huge pain to deal with the cleanup but it's a safety issue; possible burn danger or worse, perhaps a fire if this had occurred while I was away from the house for several hours.

I purchased this crock because I wanted a larger one and because I have other Kitchenaid appliances. I have been pleased with all my other kitchenaid purchases but this one I am not so sure. I got this last Wed. and used it Thur. to make the Pulled Pork BBQ , well the crock cracked!! I was so upset , tempted to send it back for a refund.. My husband convinced me to try again. I called Kitchenaid and they are sending me a new crock so we will see. If it cracks again I will send this one back. Can't really say much more since I only used it once.
