This chopper has one speed. I am not thrilled. It is plastic and seems to lack the sturdiness I am used to in a kitchen aid. I had a cuisinart. The lid broke so I purchased this thinking it would be of better quality. I was happier with the cuisinart. I does the job. It just fell short of my expectations.

This is the second one we have owned. The mixer is a great tool for the kitchen. We use it mainley for sauces and marinades. However, the first units lid broke at the point that activates the safety switch and finding a new bowl and lid is a nightmare. So we just bought the whole unit again.

This is my second one! The first one lasted 7 years, then the plastic lid cracked and broke. I tryed to just replace the lid, but it was cheeper to buy a NEW one! LOVE LOVE LOVE this item!!!
