I have hardwood floors and a yellow lab, the Hoover worked GREAT! The other reviews are helpfull and yes, the cord is very short and it does not stand up for storage, BUT it worked great. If I knew how to knit I could of knit another dog with the hair that I picked up. The fact that it swiviled was a real plus. I could get under chairs, the couch and low coffee table without a problem and also between furnisher that I could not do with my standard Hoover. The item arrived on the promised date and in good shape. Very happy that I bought it so far.

broom has been retired - cannot believe how good this one is in picking up doghair and foxtails. I live on 5 acres and the dogs (4) carry in a lot of the pasture. just wish it did heavy rugs

We got this as a light-weight vac to leave at our vacation home to use between visits from our cleaner. Had it there for about 5 months, during which time it received very little use, since the place has been mostly vacant, except for the 3 weeks it was occupied - and even then, it was not used very frequently because - Hey! - we're on vacation while we're there and are more likely to leave any vacuuming to be done by the cleaners after we leave. Well, my cleaner called today because she used it for a bit of light touch-up after she sent her main vac on to the next unit with her partner; and it died. I had planned to order two more of these vacs (one for my other vacation home and one for my own home), but I don't think I will now. Had I used the thing at home, where it would have been used more frequently, it probably would have pooped out at lot sooner and quite possibly I could have gotten some of my money back. But 5 months down the road, I guess I'm out of luck.
