I consider this as useful as my dishwasher -- and just like a dishwasher, you have to use it right to get the best results. I find it pretty simple. First pass picks up dry dirt - better than my regular vac. Second pass scrubs with soap solution. Third pass picks up the water and dries the floor. In case you're wondering if it works, you'll know when you dump the filthy black water out of the holding tank. I always think how disgusting it is that mopping left all that behind on my floors. Two things to remember, if you move it back and forth very rapidly, the tank can dribble out, but no problem, you can pick it up again easily. And sometimes if I pick up a lot of hair, I have to stop and unclog it. My floors stay cleaner longer than mopping.

As much as I want this item to be wonderful, it couldn't be further from it. To be extremely fair to Hoover I haven't owned one or two or three but four of these. (2 turquoise, 1 lime green and 1 purple) In addition, my sister-in-law owns one as well. Both of us have had the same problem with all of the cleaners. After about six months the cleaner breaks a seal or something and when you stop it and leave it in one place water leaks all over. I will give Hoover credit, the cheaper model that doesn't have rotating brushes actually works better and doesn't leak (not yet anyway). Unfortunately, I gave it away when the new model with rotating brushes came out. Needless to say....save your money.
