I ordered this screwdriver recently thinking it was at a good price, considering it's a Milwaukee. One of the first things I noticed with the tool was that the aluminum label plate read "made in China." This made me reconsider the value of the price paid. I own a Milwaukee drill that was "made in the USA" and I assumed this tool would be as well. Maybe the quality is just as good, only time will tell. I was, and still am, a little disappointed though about the "made in China" surprise.

Other reviewers have already said how good this tool is. Easy to use, light, balanced, powerful and Milwaukee smooth. They make such good motors for screwdrivers and drills. This gun is a pleasure to use for hours on end. On Amazon's page, they suggest you add a steel carry case. THIS KIT COMES WITH THAT STEEL CARRY CASE. NO NEED TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE. Just order this kit and you'll have it covered.

This is my first drywall screwdriver, and I researched alot of them before I chose the Milwaukee. In the end, it came down to Milwaukee's name, this driver having a hard nose (as opposed to soft plastic) and the torque of an electric tool. I've used it for a couple weeks now and don't know how I managed to hang drywall without it. After taking a few drives to set the depth, I haven't broken the paper once, haven't snapped the head off one screw, and have hung full sheets of drywall by myself without using nails. Now my only concern has been missing the stud. Now the cons: I have big hands and cannot get the trigger lock engaged with the hand holding the grip. The only way I can get the trigger lock pushed in far enough is to use a finger on my "free" hand. If you have to angle the gun to get screws in tight corners sometimes requires a hand screwdriver to finish them after the gun has driven them as far as it can. And of course since it is electric there's an extension cord that follows you around. I may consider purchasing a cordless screwdriver in the future to elminate the cords, but this tool is going to be in my arsenal for as long as I'm working.

We have used the 6835DWD intalling drywall plasterboard ceilings and walls for some years now and found the Makita 6835DWD by far the best for this application compared to other available products in Australia. Strong too, they bounce if dropped. Gotta watch the type of collated screw though as some work better than others. Batteries last well and charge fast. I'm always amazed at the ingenious design of such tools which evidence intelligence. Thanks design engineers.!!

I purchased this product and used it in our shop. When everyone else saw it and saw how great it was, they wanted to order more.

For what it is- simple and lightweight, it's the best we've found so far. They last about 1-2 years of daily use in our production room. We needed a driver that was light to carry for driving small screws, with a good clutch to make sure the screws didn't break out. Any other driver is either way to heavy to carry all day, or way too crappy. The clutch works, the batteries work for about a year. So we recommend it highly for light duty jobs.

I must start by saying I'm a big fan of the DeWalt 18v line. There isn't much they make that I don't have. When I saw this was available, I thought it would be a great addition to the tool bag. That said, it's just too heavy for all day use. They batteries last, but my arm doesn't. I can't say for sure if it's the weight of the tool or the balance, but either way, it doesn't work well for me for all day use. It is a good tool for a few screws here or there. The motor is plenty powerful and the depth / clutch works well. I use it when I'm supervising a crew and am needed all over a job site. If I'm working in one location, I go with a traditional high-speed corded gun.

Works fantastic! No cord to dance around! Always being one to check/read customer reviews, for some years now I have gone with DeWalt 18v tools. Unlike some other brands that have some outstanding cordless tools and some not so good tools in their lines, DeWalt almost always gets good marks. So far, I have not been disappointed in either quality or performance as expected. DeWalt, as usual, has another cordless winner here. Having the same tool Mfg'r also means you can share the batteries and chargers. A couple of battery packs will drive drywall screws all day long. Owning several DeWalt 18v tools that were supplied with batteries and chargers, I did not need additional batteries; or chargers; or the kit boxes, so I opted to purchase the bare tool from one of Amazon's third party sellers, Max Tools, (DeWalt DC520B) for a substantial savings. The DC520KA is fast and efficient for driving screws. I have bad shoulders now so it is a bit heavy for overhead work for me (I use a DeWalt corded model), but certainly managable if you are an average homeowner or a pro and only want to use one drywall gun. The gun is pricey, but thats DeWalt for you and you tend to get what you pay for. If you're a homeowner that may do some serious drywalling once or twice in your lifetime, this package may be too expensive for your needs and a simple, cheaper corded model may be the way to go if $ is an issue. (See my review of the corded DeWalt DW272 screw gun as a possible option.)
