As the Contractor, doing kitchen cabinet installation and refacing, I bought this Angle Drill as a subsidiary tool for hard to reach places and narrow opening door installation. This Drill is good to drill the holes, but it's very hard to use it as the screw driver, since it is very hard to control the driving speed. The Makita manufacturer should add 2-speed switch to this Drill-Driver as Dewalt did.

Great for tight places
I have used this drill to punch top plates on exterior walls of houses, running wire.nnGreat torque for a 12volt, battery has outlasted my Dewalt..

I am replacing nails that were used to secure the boards on my deck. The nail line is directly under the bottom 2x4 of the side rail with barely 4 inches of clearance. Viola, this drill with a stubby bit and a 2 1/2 inch deck screw makes a difficult job easy.

As an owner of a small business, I am always looking for the best tools. Makita tools have never let me down over the past 10 years of business. This drill is no different. The balance and weight are proportional to reduce fatigue while drilling. Using the keyless chuck requires little hand torque to secure the bit, one of the best chucks I have ever used. These batteries provide the power for both drills that I use and a flashlight with power to spare. Recently, while building a deck using 3" deck and lag screws, I had to charge every 2-3 hours while rotating to another battery. I couldn't have asked for any better performance. GREAT TOOL!

On delivery I checked the tool for run out at the chuck and found that it wobbled. I made the check based on another review. It could be due to a defective chuck or gear box output shaft run out. The tool is well featured and those features are easy to use. All that though is background noise if the tool can't perform the basic functions of drilling a round hole or driving a screw straight. Those functions cannot be performed with a chuck that wobbles for whatever reason.

I purchased this drill kit well over two years ago and have used it frequently. In all basic functions, it has performed quite nicely amd with no malfunctions. The batteries have exhibited a long run time and give the drill enough power to drill holes and drive screws without complaint. Recharging has been trouble free and after the passage of time, the batteries still appear "fresh" in usage. My complaint? I wish Makita would have thought a bit more about the basic shape of the batteries. If an individual attempting to remove the battery has a fairly large hand and a good grip, removal is not going to be difficult. However, if your hands are smaller and you perhaps suffer from a bit of arthritis, you will in all probablity have trouble getting your thumb and fingers around the wide battery casing and then be able to apply enough inward pressure to depress the built in tabs and release the battery from the drill. Other than this and a "one size fits all" case which is large enough to contain the drill, charger, extra battery with enough space left to include several atticles of clothing should you want to use it as an overnight piece of luggage, it is indeed a quaility tool. I would however, recommend to those who suffer from the limitations mentioned to consider this drill kit only it you can actually see and handle it first to make certain that you can perform the battery removal procedure without difficulty.

If you use a cordless drill to drive screws, you'll love this impact driver. I don't know why I did not get one sooner. It made building things a lot easier. Great deal for the price.

I have owned the 12V Makita impact driver for about a year, and I love it. The 12V is powerful enough to drive 3 inch decking screws in yellow pine, but lighter than any of the 18V models - nice if you are carrying it around and lifting it a lot. The combo is a good deal; although the drill is not powerful enough for some jobs, it is perfect for driving pocket screws (the impact driver is too much for those).

I purchased the Makita impact driver due to the tool's reputation and because I needed a tool with more torque than a drill. The promo package came with a free Makita cordless drill which was so nice that I donated my Sears Craftsman corded drill to charity. My first used of the impact driver and drill was to create multiple 12 inch deep holes in a tree stump using spade drill bits. The two included batteries were good for 3 holes before requiring a recharge (recharger is included). I've also since used it to rotate my tires and another job on my front suspension. The impact driver is a very powerful tool and the drill is a very nice addition. For lighter work, the drill has a mode for skrews and bolts (adjustible by trigger pressure) and one for drilling (with 400 rpm and 1200 rpm setting). I am a happy camper. I now know why tradesmen have Makita cordless tools strapped to their belts.

I have several Makita drills but my trusty old 6213D is my favorite. I've had it for years and gone through many batteries. I almost decided to put it away for good a few months ago after my last battery finally gave out. I'm glad I didn't. As soon as I powered it up again with this Makita 192598-2 1222 I remembered why I bought the drill in the first place. Super price on this battery, too. You can't get this item for less than 50.00 at Home Depot or Lowes.

I purchased 2 of these model 1222 Makita 12v batteries to get me back up and running again. Both of my previous batteries had gone down relatively close to each other. I had contemplated upgrading to an 18v tool, but that would have more than doubled my cost. For the DIY work that I do, these are just fine. The only rub that I have is that they are purchased through a third party and you can't take advantage of the super saver that is offered through Amazon directly. Outside of that, the shipment was flawless - on time and in perfect condition. These batteries come in a carded blister container.

They work very well and were reasonably priced. What was key to my purchase was the fact that they were from Makita and not aftermarket knock-offs batteries.
