I have owned this drill for about 3 years. I am an electrician and use the drill almost daily. I've never had it run out of power (although when I'm drilling through more than 6 inches of wood I will reduce my bit down to 3/4 inch. The plastic collar of the side handle has broken a little after getting dropped on a wood subfloor in 30 degree weather, but I think that's almost to be expected. What I like most is that it's light (which means a lot when you are carrying it up and down a ladder all day, and that it's quiet!! This is a big plus because often the drill is only a couple feet from your ears. I know I could wear hearing protection but it's easier to just buy a quiet drill. Today I'm buying a second one for another employee I've been so pleased!

I ordered and received this item twice in a defective condition. Each time the drill arrived with a very noticeable amount of light oil in the case. The case was also deformed each time. I do not believe based on an inspection of the packaging that UPS mishandled the box in transit. In other words, it was only subject to the normal amount of abuse and not crushed up. I called Makita and they said the oil in the case is not normal and I should return it, which I did. After the second arrived with the leak I gave up and ordered the Milwaukee 3107-6. No problems with that unit and I should have known better and just ordered the Milwaukee in the first place. I was fooled by the slightly higher rpm on the Makita which is wholly unnesseary and may be even detrimental for the large holes I purchased this machine to bore. The problem here may be that the Makita case is just so flimsy, and it is the worst case I have ever seen, that it cannot be relied upon for any type of protection in transit. Here's the problem with Amazon and other internet retailers: they do not pack well and rely on the product's original packaging for protection. The Milwaukee's case is solid, the Makita's is not and this creates a problem when you are getting almost no padding in your shipment.

So far I have to say it's an excellent drill and would recommend it to any one. Only bad thing I have to say about it is the crappy case they give you.

I had spent 6 years procrastinating, using my 18v cordless drill to drill for my wiring jobs. I borrowed my plumbers right angle drill (a beat-up Old Milwaukee)and on my way home that night I stopped at my local home improvement store and bought one. Wow what a time saver. The Old Milmaukee FEELS heavy duty. Great torque. Im sure I'll be passing this one down some day. And this is from a Dewalt user...

I remember needing one of these so long ago and my only option at the time was to get the skewdriver kit witch had a right angle adapter in it, but that was a much lighter duty version than this (of course i learned later that Milwaukee mad the same thing. So having gone through at least three of those i kept thinking that they should make a heavier duty one and they did. I have used this and it's one of those tools that i can't do without.

i have this attached to my makita cordless impact driver and it works like a charm! i've used it to drive over a hundred sheet metal screws in steel framing one after another, all in a row and i was sure this thing was going to give out on me. but, i'm glad i was wrong because this attachment has proven itself to be quite reliable.

I was excited when I first saw this product, but my excitement soon turned into disappointment. It looks well built, but my first one lasted about 10 minutes. When I tried to get a replacement, I was told that it was considered a consumable. I then made the mistake of buying another one thinking that the other one breaking was a fluke. Unfortunately, the second one lasted only about 15 minutes. Save your money!

If you are going to be doing any serious wiring around your house buy one of these drills, don't argue with me, don't cavil and whine that's it's too expensive, just buy the drill. Now Drilling between joists, or up into wall cavities, tasks which are a complete pain in the neck with a standard drill are almost effortless with the 3002. I had to run a bundle of wires through 12 floor joists, with this drill it took me about 15 minutes to drill all of the holes I needed and run the wires. Like every other Milwaukee product the drill is very well built and durable and if taken care of will last forever.

I use this drill at work on a daily bases and it has never let me down. The extra long handle is great when your dilling overhead. This model has a higher rpm than the standard right angle dill kit. The higher rpm's make drilling wood a lot easier. I only wish Milwaukee would have put the Quik-Lok cord on this model. No tool is perfect but this one comes close.
