I have always been terrified of pressure cookers. At the insistence of my best friend, I finally broke down and bought this one so that I could make my own Cuban black beans and rice. I love it! I feel comfortable with the safety features of this one - so much better than the jiggle-top WWII-style my mother owned. I make all types of beans, soups, roasts, etc. in this and it's really fun to experiment.

We purchased this Fagor pressure cooker to replace a smaller Mirro that has been working well for us for decades. We can get our Fagor to hold pressure once in a while but most of the time it doesn't. The instruction book is 98% recipes with only one or two all-too-brief paragraphs on setting it up. I'm looking to replace it with another pressure cooker; something less frustrating to use and more reliable than the Fagor brand.

I've cooked in other pressusre cookers for over 50 years, nothing compares to this for the ease in using. Vegetables and beans come out perfect. I'm a vegetarian so haven't cooked anything with meat. Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get out of the kitchen faster, plus saves money on cooking fuel.
