The reviewer who called this "awesome" got it right. I bought it in red to match our kitchen walls and tile, and it looks great. My old pre-digital scale was very compact, as is this one, but I needed a scale to go down to .1 oz (for homebrewing, among other kitchen adventures). I took some hop packets from the freezer and played with it -- seems accurate and works fast. The tare function is hugely valuable and the toggle between US and metric makes switching a breeze. Really one of the best $25 investments I've ever made!

When I step on my bathroom scale, successive reading attempts come back within +/- one pound of some average reading. This Escali kitchen scale typically returns the same reading on successive attempts. This wasn't expected, but makes me happy. Would buy again.

I'm very pleased with the scale-it is quite precise, and I love the tare function, which allows you to zero out the weight after each addition to your plate.
