EdgeStar Sparkling Wine Cooler

The EdgeStar BWC120SS Sparkling Wine Cooler - Stainless Steel (BWC120SSWINE) with the shelving provided in this kit, can store up to 25 bottles of wine and has an additional bottom storage basket.  This unit is specifically designed for to store white wines, sparkling wines, prosecco and champagne, as it operates at a much cooler temperature than most wine refrigerators. The BWC120SS's racks feature a stainless front and the unit features a reversible stainless steel trimmed dual paned glass door, chrome shelving, and interior lighting which all offer excellent presentation and easy accessibility to wine and other beverages. This freestanding sparkling wine refrigerator with mechanical controls offers a temperature range approximately between mid 30°s - mid 50°s Fahrenheit, which represents a much cooler range than most wine refrigerators.  Sparkling wines and champagne are typically stored at a lower temperature range due to their carbon solubility, which causes champagne to have its bubbly appearance.  As temperature rises, carbon becomes more soluble and attempts to "escape," similar to how warm soda can sometimes overflow in a standard bottle.  In order to preserve the quality of sparkling wines and champagne, we recommend the BWC120SSWINE's unique temperature range. For traditional reds and whites, the optimal wine storage temperature is at 53-57°F. It is believed by many that this is the appropriate temperature range for both red and white wine storage as it is neither too cold to impede wine maturation nor is it too warm to accelerate it.
