Using a sophisticated combination of precision controlled passive infrared (PIR) and microwave technologies, these sensors give you complete Coverage-on-Demand! A jumper switch enables you to quickly pick from a variety of precise range settings. Coverage-on-Demand makes sure the sensor detects only those objects within a precise area, and not in the next room or outside a common problem for less professional dual technology sensors. With the RCR-PET make, each zone is factory calibrated to overlook animals up to 80 lbs but still detect human-sized objects. The sensor operates like sonar on a submarine, emitting radar signals that "ping" the secured area, then recoil back to the sensor on its previous path. Objects that are not within the covered range are ignored. The sensor calibrates the attributes of an object by figuring out its size and distance from the sensor. This lets it ignore pets such as dogs and cats without any loss of detection. For high security demanding quicker detection, a radar-only mode is available for everything except RCR-PET.
