I bought this as a replacement to my original flex shaft. Excellent tool for detail work with the Dremel. Be advised that the Dremel should be hung above where you are working and not just sat on its side next to you. It will perform much better this way. Oh and don't lose the driver bit (little screw in bit) or the tool is useless. Too bad they couldn't have attached it to the assembly somehow as it is a easy piece to misplace.

I didn't know how much I needed the Flex-Shaft Attachment until I got it! The head of the Flex-Shaft is significantly narrower than the regular Dremel and the flexible shaft allows angles not possible with the Dremel. The only drawback is that because of the mechanics of the Flex-Shaft, the effective RPM speed is reduced somewhat because of the "drag" of the cable inside. This is not necessarily undesirable but does cause the batteries of the cordless Dremel to drain faster. Great Unit!!! A definite must for the consummate Dremmeler!

This is my 2nd one. First one last me about 5 years. Worked great untell drive cable snapped. This new one 2nd time using it at high rpms it has a shimmy to it,like they used cheap bearing in it. I dunno maybe I just got a bum one?
