I hate this vacuum. I moved to the states from Germany where I had all wood floors so my swiffer was my best friend. Here my new house was totally carpeted. Needless to say I bought this vacuum thinking it was the best little product. I should have checked the reviews. I have allergies so emptying this thing is the worst; dust flies everywhere and you might as well buy a new filter everytime you empty the cup which is a beast to take off. On top of that I've had it for about 8 months and the mechanism that makes it stay upright has broken and it smells like something is burning when I run it for awhile. Sick of this vacuum and I'm going to get a new one. Please save yourself the trouble and don't buy this vacuum!

Recvd the product in a timely matter. After a couple of days open up the box and discovered there were no screws. Called Dirt Devil and was told the screws would be shipped, after a week still no screws. Called again and was told there was no record of my previous call requesting screws. So again I requested screws, by now it's week 2. I returned the vacuum cleaner. The screws showed up three weeks later. Don't know if the vacuum cleaner worked or not. That's my only regret.

I've had this vacuum for two months now. Use it on a weekly basis and I am impressed by the amount of dirt it picks up. If you vacuum quickly then it won't pick up as much dirt but if you go along methodically then you will be amazed by the amount of dirt and hair it will pick up. The suction is awesome! The whole thing is very light and the plastic can be on the cheaper side but this vacuum is amazingly inexpensive. If you want to purchase something more expensive then go ahead; I've had moderate ($100 plus) to expensive vacuums (almost $500). I felt the price I got for this vacuum ($60, S&H included) was well worth the money and completely did its job. The suction is so strong it pulls the carpets at times. I can actually see dust, hair balls being sucked towards the vacuum. I believe I can maneuver this machine better than most I've had. It is a bagless and yes it can get dirty to clean. I have yet to see or even read about a bagless vacuum being easy to clean. For those that complain then they should just get a bagged vacuum. I take out the cartridge and empty the dirt in my garden, hit the filter lightly against a stone and then cover up the dirt with soil and use it to act as fertilizer. I don't ever recommend cleaning a bagless indoors. I have read all the complaints. I think some ppl should just hire someone to do their vacuum or adjust their expectations. I feel this vacuum is an excellent value and I would buy it again. Since it's only two months I do hope it last me a couple of years.. That's my only concern thus far...
