I concur with all of the reviews ranging from 1-5 stars on this vacuum. It is loud and the exhaust does blow very strong. These "cons" are attributed to the high power that this unit has. It picks up dirt and long hair very well. And since the vacuum head doesn't have a conventional brushroll, it cannot jam with hair. This vacuum is used in an apartment with approximatly 800 sq.ft. with 50/50 carpet and tile floor. It loses one star for the noise...although loud, it is bearable.

I read another reviewer that said they wore earplugs when they use this vacuum. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one. The noise this vacuum makes is deafening. I would not recommend it based solely on this.

I'm not sure why some reviewers feel that this vacuum has powerful suction. What it does do is make a lot of noise. It's actually quite shocking for such a little stick vacuum as it makes more noise than my full upright and more powerful vacuums that I have. It also blows around an incredible amount of air that I sometimes wonder if I bought a vacuum or a blower. It actually blows away some of the things that I want to suck up before I can get to it. If like working harder, then you can very slowly go over an area multiple times, and it will eventually suck up the dust, lint, hair, etc. from your rug. Also, if you are wanting to pick up things along the edges of the carpet against a wall w/out a special attachment, it does blow the dust, etc. out of the corners, so I can then suck it up w/ the vacuum. I don't believe this was meant to be a product feature just a quirk that I've used to my advantage. The vacuum is light to move around & easy to take out/put away. However, there are so many other products out there just as light, having longer cords, aren't as noisy and have better suction that it doesn't make sense to waste your money on this one. But if you want a noisy vacuum that blows more than it sucks, then by all means get this one. You'll at least feel powerful.
