This vacuum blows. No,quite literally, it blows! Picture the following scenario. You are approaching an unspecting dust bunny on the floor. Just when you are about to go in for the kill, it is blown to bits and scattered all over the room. Not a pretty sight. If you like chasing dust and dirt all over the room, this is the vacuum for you. I can't believe it ever made it out of the early design phase. The exhaust is directed right to the floor in front of the vacuum thereby blowing away just what you are trying to vacuum. When you want it to suck, it blows.

I had no idea how dirty my carpet was. I had been using my old Eureka Power Plus and it just wasn't doing the job. I got this for Christmas and whoa was that filter and container dirty! This is a good product.

This Dirt Devil is a surprisingly light and powerful bagless vacuum cleaner. You immediately notice how light it is and how easy it is to maneuver. The other nice feature is ability to fold this vacuum in half which saves space. We bought it on sale for $54 (list price is $89) at the Best Buy and for this price you also get an excellent performance which you would expect on $400 vacuums. I have tried Dyson $399 and Oreck $299 and they are not better performers. Although Dyson and Oreck are good vacuum cleaners, it is hard to justify paying 700% more for a similar or even worse performance. In fact, I was surprised to learn that such expensive vacuum cleaners are not ranked high in most consumer reviews. Overall, if you are looking for a great inexpensive vacuum cleaner this Dirt Devil is an easy pick. Pros: performance, price, light weight, compact, bagless, easy to clean, good looking. Cons: standard cleaning width (15-inch cleaning width would have been nice)
