I have a long haired cat and chocolate lab and lots of hair, I have rustic plank laminate flooring throughout so I need something that would pick up down in the crevices,this does quite well,I like being able to control the suction for throw rugs. However I also have a large wool braided rug and it wouldn't pick up a thing on it,I didn't buy this for my rugs so I understood going in so I kept my upright(also a dirt devil) I don't see a problem cleaning out the dirt cup,I reuse my plastic bags from shopping and tie the top. I do wish the cord was longer and had better attachments but my other ones fit on this one.

This vacuum is simple and does the job well. I will recommend this vacuum to any one.

When I received this, I was hesitant. Not only because of the small size, but the smaller container for debris. I was correct. I have deep pile carpet in my living room. I tried it in the living room. After 5 minutes, I had to empty it. Not even 1/8th of the floor was done. I have 2 German Shepherds, a breed that sheds very heavily, all year long. This item isn't made for stength. It's made for people who have very low pile carpets or bare floors, with pets that don't shed. I returned this. It isn't worth the price.
