I am about to purchase a handheld vacuum (Bissell 33A1 Pet Hair Eraser Corded Handheld Vacuum Cleaner) to replace this one. It is extremely loud and it it a real workout to use. It does not glide...you pull and drag it along the floor/couch cushion and it is awkward. Maybe I am using more pressure than I need to, but it is quite cumbersome for me. Did I mention it is loud? It's really loud. As I read some other reviews here I realize this is not just me, it really is an issue. As far as effectiveness, it does work well as a vacuum. But, I just can't use it anymore.

I have owned the previous version of this little vacuum for about 10 years! I had to replace one belt in that time. I will not use anything else on stairs. I have three cats and a dog so I know all about pet hair and this little vac does a fabulous job. It is loud and kinda heavy (I get a work out while cleaning BONUS!) but it is still much easier than hauling a regular sized vac up stairs while trying to maneuver the hose attachment. Actually, of all the vacuums I have ever owned (and there have been alot) the Dirt Devils have lasted the longest and performed the best. I'm a DD fan!

This Handheld Vacumn is a piece of junk. It has blowers on both sides that blow so hard it blows the dirt six feet away. It's not sucking up the dirt and hair it just blows it all over the place. I threw it in the garbage because I didn't want anyone else to go through the torture.
