For the money, it's a good starter kit for those interested in grooming. We bought it for our toy poodle that we were interested in home grooming. I think for those pet owners who want something inexpensive that works fairly well and can give them an idea if home grooming is something they want to continue to do, this product is great. Why spend $150 or more on a pair of high end clippers only to decide you'd rather pay someone else to groom? The blade dulled fairly quickly though admittedly, the curly poodle coat isn't the most blade friendly type of hair so expect to either have the blade replaced or sharpened frequently. Since we've decided to continue home grooming, we've decided to get a more expensive Oster 2 speed A5 clipper. Seems like all the higher end ($100+) clipper reviews all say that everyone eventually finds their way to the nice Oster clippers after all is said and done. So if you are simply curious if you want to start grooming or don't mind blade maintenance, these aren't too bad. The first couple of grooms with it were very good (in my totally unprofessional opinion) but each got progressively more and more time consuming removing the clipper hair length guide, pulling out blade clogging hair, putting the plastic thing back on and going another several inches before repeating the process...
