Orig. purchased in Aug 08. Blender smoked and motor stopped first month after purchase but Cuisinart refused to replace. They stated they only "repair" at owners expense for shipping and handling. Amazon replaced blender. Same thing happened again with second blender after only 3 usages. Cuisinart told me they had recalled the blender but again refused to either refund or replace. Amazon refunded.

This thing just says hit me with your best shot! And I do everytime and it never fails me. I grind chicken breast for chicken loaf chop up garlic. OOOOOHHHH! So, nice! I noticed that some people complained about the size of the food processor but, I think it's big enough to get the job done and if I'm making a larger meal I just split up the portions. I think for what your paying and that you should be more than pleased with what you recieve. It's a combo deal - the blender jar is huge and sturdy and wonderful. The blades are sharp for both products and do a superb job. The stand up to anything (within reason for you nutty nuts out there)!

The comments about the burning smell are correct, motors burning out are correct. Although some will get ones without defects. This is typical of what occurs when there is virtually no quality control, as the BFP-10CH is one of the typical family of products that are off-shored to Communist China. The focus is to make them cheap, as they pressure their Chinese hired contractors manufacturers to make them cheaper and cheaper. This is NOT the fault of China, but is the fault and choice of Cuisinart, who wants them cheap, like the Conair products. Cuisinart is owned fully by Conair, the maker of inexpensive, lower grade hair appliances you will see in Walmart, Walgreens, Targets and other "discount stores". The brilliance of the American's Carl and Shirley Sontheimer, MIT graduates, whose commitment to top of the line quality and engineering ingenuity hare now way gone as all of the products are off shored to the cheapest Communist Chinese manufacturers they can find and are working on, and succeeding of getting into the discount stores and increase profits by selling their lower level, discount appliances at higher prices due to the proud name and history of Cuisinart. Conair and are owned by Leandro Rizzuto, who is focused on his new resort in Antigua. Someone posted "What happened to Cuisinart", now you know. IF the customer support is not what is used to be, it is because it is NOT what it used to be. If you see plastic holding the stainless steel blades, instead of Stainless steel holding the blades together, like the better made blenders do, you know the reason. I returned my model when I was shocked by its performance, burning smells, lack quality of its parts, the phony chrome, now I know why. Some have notice other models of blenders looking exactly like Cuisinart on another site that reviews cookware, that is because they have been offshored to the same Communist Chinese "ODP", as they are called, who get contracts to manufacture everything, then send them back for distribution. So who knows, these might be made by children, indentured servants, prisoners, whoever, in horrific work conditions whose bosses are putting pressure on them to make them faster and cheaper and following the instructions of Cuisinart to use inferior materials. Then Cuisinart soaks their profits into the marketing arm of the organization that gets them in discount stores and lets the public think that the current Cuisinart products are related to the standard of great quality and support of the past. I am going to look at some other companies and see where their products are manufactured so I can get an idea of the quality. I certainly don't want to overpay to allow Leandro Rizzuto to get richer on others suffering and the use of the Cuisinart name. Jon
