MADE IN CHINA says it all. The pieces in this set do not even match themselves. I have coveted a Calphalon cookware set since the early 1980's. Finally I made the leap and bought the 13 piece Tri-Ply set with additional pieces (20 total - nearly $800 in all). Unfortunately, when washing the newly arrived cookware I noticed most of it is stamped MADE IN CHINA. To make matters worse the MADE IN CHINA stamped pieces are not the same quality as those not marked MADE IN CHINA. The cookware stamped MADE IN CHINA have much smaller rivets attaching the handles to the bodies. Also, the rims or edges of the MADE IN CHINA pieces are not finished nearly as well. The MADE IN CHINA edges are not as rounded and feel sharp to the touch. Thus, the cookware doesn't match! Even the pieces shipped as part of the 13 piece set do not match! The information posted on both the AMAZON and the CALPHALON sites is misleading. I would not have bought any of this cookware had either the AMAZON site or the CALPHALON site mentioned that the goods were MADE IN CHINA. Somewhere there should be mention that the Tri-Ply cookware for the most part is MADE IN CHINA. I wanted and thought I was buying made in USA goods. I would return the everything if not for the fact that I have already thrown out the boxes. Moreover, for $800 I thought I was buying a SET of cookware of uniform quality and construction. How mistaken I was. Now I am stuck with CHINA MADE goods that do not even match.

I just got these pans a little less than a week ago as a gift at my wedding shower, and I absolutely love them. They are so easy to cook with and more importantly they're easy to clean too. Even to make eggs is a breeze. All the bad reviews you read about these pans are from those who do not know how to cook with stainless steel. There is a very precise way of doing so and it you follow it you won't be let down.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R215Y5I41RTI2E I researched other high-end stainless cookware (All-Clad, Cuisinart MultiClad) before settling on this Calphalon Tri-Ply set. In the end, I decided against the All-Clad because of uncomfortable handles, much higher price, and inability to stick in the dishwasher. That left Calphalon and Cuisinart. In this video, I give a "tour" of the Calphalon set, from lids to handles, and compare it to a Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless 1-1/2-Quart Saucepan with Cover and to a bottom-clad Rohe pot. Yes, these Calphalon pots are both dishwasher- and oven-safe. Note: the coppery color on the pots is a reflection of the hardwood floors and NOT actual copper. The exterior is 100% stainless steel. --Debbie Lee Wesselmann
