The BRNO chair was designed in 1930 by Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. The chair design is that of a modern cantilever chair. The original design was for use in the bedroom of the Tugendhat house in BRNO, Czech Republic. The modern design of the chair features lines that are clean, sleek and simple. Mies created the chair after similar styles that he had previously created with Lilly Reich such as the MR20 chair designed in 1927 that featured a wicker seat. The original BRNO chair featured a solid stainless steel metal frame. The BRNO Chair model number MR50 was upholstered in 100% full grain aniline leather. The chair design was versatile enough to be used in residential and commercial areas. BRNO stood the test of time and is the unchallenged icon of modern classic seating for a wide variety of modern settings. Kardiel's reproduction of Brno chair has all of the high quality features of the original BRNO, including the softest and most supple highest quality 'Full Grain Aniline' Leather. N
