Hello, After a lot of reading and research, and after reading a lot of reviews on Amazon, I finally baught this and very pleased with it. Pros : 1) The POWER is mroe than you would imagine. 2) Very ergonamically designed, you will be more comfortable using this one compared to a GAS one. 3) Ideal for a home owner with out lacking the perfection of a heavier lounder gas model. ( I may bot suggest this for commercial use though). 4) Built is SOLID looks like this is going to last a long time. 5) BLADE is amazing. Eeven if it hits stones several times the BLADE is intact. This is the most impressive feature to me. And even if you have to replace it its only 8 bucks max. 6) cleaning is very very easy when it clogs. I suggest having a long schrew driver handy to clean instead of using your hands. Cons: 1) Be carefull - not to cut the powr cord. I did that onece in my first use. You always have to be mindful about where your power cable is going. 3) When the grass you need to work on is very dense and thick usually with clay, it will not cut it in first pass. In these situations a gas one may work better, but if you are a home owner you really need not buy a gas one just for this reason, if you do so, you would be giving up comfort of this light one, instead, when the going gets tough with this one, go back and forth couple of times, muti pass the same hard area will do the job. This usually is the case when you are doing first time edging in the season or areas not been edged in a long time or new edging. This will takes up to 3 - 4 hours depends on the area, but once you do this next time onwards it wont be hard at all and won't take long time to reedge. Conclusion : Buy this one if ---> 1) you are a home owner. 2) if the area you want to deal with is up to 500 foot. 3) if you have outdoor power points available. 4) If you want to spend within the budget for a good value equipment. DO NOT Buy this if---> You are planning on using it to commercial purpose. 2) If you think power points may be a problem. 3) or if you have a very large area to deal with, managing with power card is a difficult thing. 4) if you want to have Trimmer, edger, weed cutting metal wheel, cultivator , blower, hedge trimmer, etc etc take a loot at ECHO PAS - Line or Husqwerna Line, one motor Unit with attachment capability and several attachments. This would be a more versatile and cost effective solution I guess. Good Luck Venu

I bought this edger along with the trimmer several weeks ago. See review on trimmer I posted if interested in seeing that review. Anyway, I am very pleased with the overall tool. The only part I find lacking is the edge guide. The blade sticks out further then the guide is and the blade is always hitting the walk way or drive way. Even when you adjust the setting to the least amount of cut. I would imagine this will wear on the blade quite a bit over time and bothers me but that is the only complaint I have. The power of the unit is good for an electric one in my opinion. I would buy it again if and when this one wears out.

I purchased this edger to replaced one like it that I used successfully for several years. It was light weight and easy to use with good results. Unfortunately, edgers like this were unavailable in the local market, so I bought one on line, refurbished with a 2 year warranty. After using it ,perhaps twice, the present edger resembled the old edger did...it did not edge. I contacted the shipper who directed me to Black and Decker who referred me to the agent in New Orleans who advised me to bring the edger in for repair. New Orleans is at least 75 miles from my home and it will be a pain in the neck for me to get there. Meanwhile, the grass is growing over the walkways. I am so disappointed.
