We bought this oven four months ago to replace a swanky Krups one that exploded, and so far, the only thing it's good at is making toast. We've cooked several different foods in it -- salmon, sweet potatoes, meatloaf -- and reheated things like pizza, French fries and chicken tenders. While the salmon broils in 5 minutes, half the time it usually would, it's barely lukewarm. It's cooked, just not hot. The sweet potatoes just wouldn't cook, and we ended up having to microwave them while we ate the rest of our Thanksgiving dinner! We had to finish the meatloaf in the microwave too. It's also really, really small inside. The largest tray that will fit it is 7" x 9". NOT big enough for squat. It only holds two slices of pizza (and those didn't get hot after 7 minutes; I could stick my finger right on the cheese, when in my previous toaster oven it was hot enough after a 5-minute reheating that I couldn't eat it right away). Luckily the local store we bought this from is AWESOME and will take it back, even after a few months of use. It just doesn't do the job. Don't waste your money!

I was so excited to receive this as a Christmas gift. I recently started dieting and was looking for an easy way to heat up prepared meals without firing up my full sized gas oven. According to the manual, you cannot place paper or plastic in this unit.(many prepared meals come in microwaveable or oven safe plastic dishes) You must use glass, metal or approved stoneware. A minor hassle if you're looking to pop in dinner right out of the freezer. But more importantly I noticed one evening the top of the unit was very hot. I hadn't used it for several hours, so that wasn't the cause. I found for whatever reason you must unplug the unit while not in use. When I saw another owners review about the small fire it caused, it made me wonder if I will keep this glorified toaster oven.

A month ago, I posted a 4-star review of this product. I thought it worked pretty well. It was fast and easy to use and required no pre-heating. Tonight, I woke up to an apartment full of smoke. The unit turned itself on and it was baking itself. The way the unit turns on, I know that it couldn't have been activated by user error -- no careless brush against the control panel would turn it on, as you actually need to press several buttons in order to turn it on. In fact, I hadn't used the oven in about a week -- Yet, there it was, tonight, glowing in the dark kitchen. I pulled the plug. There's a bit of a scorch mark on the wall behind it, but aside from the acrid smoke, I caught it before it did any more damage. I just now did a search on the web, and I've seen several accounts similar to mine. I would feel awful if someone bought the oven on my advice and suffered a fate worse than mine. Please don't buy this oven, or, if you do, keep it unplugged when not in use.
