How to choose an espresso machine
Before buying an espresso machine, you need to know that there are five kinds of machines – steam driven, manual, semi-automatic, automatic and super-automatic espresso machines. These machines cost anywhere from $100 to more than $1000. Because they cost more than regular coffee machines, be sure to take your budget and needs into consideration when choosing an espresso machine.
If you are on a budget and are looking for a small machine that’s quick and easy to use you should go for the Steam Powered espresso machine. It makes reasonably good espresso and operates by forcing water through the coffee with steam or steam pressure. The manual machines, on the other hand require some skill and practice to make good espressos. These machines are extremely quiet and are easy to clean and store but they are not for everyone. It takes some effort and time to make great tasting espressos with them.
Semi-automatic and super-automatic espresso machines are the most common home espresso machines. They are convenient to use and are ideal for espresso enthusiasts who want great coffee every time. The only disadvantage to using a semi-automatic is that you need to clean the portafilter after each brew cycle.
If money is not an issue, then the super-automatic espresso machine is ideal for you. It is a high-end espresso machine with a built-in french coffee grinder and an internal waste box. All you need to do is add the whole beans and let it brew the perfect shot of espresso for you!
