Choosing a theme for your garden
Gardens are built around aesthetics, and if a garden does not have a consistent theme, it can appear disjointed and disorganized. On the other hand, a garden with a good theme can be utterly stunning. So how does someone pick a theme for their garden?
The first step is to figure out the basis of the garden. For example, if someone is particularly fond of roses, they may choose to base their garden completely around some sort of roses. Common things people base their gardens around are plant types, such as flowers or environments, or styles, like Asian versus European gardens. Other examples that are possible are color themes or historical themes.
After a major theme is chosen, it’s time to get down to the specific elements. Plan out the layout of the garden, making sure no detail has gone unturned. There are always a lot of things to take into account. Important ones are factors such as colors, plant organization and type, and symmetry. Each of these can give a garden a different feel. For example, brighter colors can give a garden a warmer feel overall, while earth tones and more greens can seem lusher. Planning is perhaps the most important part of the overall process. After the plants and layout have been decided, it is finally time to decide on accessories that complement the rest of the garden. This can mean various fountains, pots, or podiums. In addition, furniture that matches a garden theme can be included, like antique white bar stools for a rustic garden. However, the same antique white bar stools would not fit in a different garden.
