The negative reviews surprise me. I've had these for a year and love them. I have several other stainless tongs but these are the ones I grab for first. They are gorgeous in their 18/10 stainless steel and very well made. I am big and have to make a conscious effort not to crush people's hands when I shake with them so the spring in these tongs is perfect for me. The ends are slippery but a little more pressure on the tongs keeps foods from slipping. The weight gives them the substantial feel of a quality tool and the fit and finish reinforces the impression. Despite what one review said mine do bear the All-Clad logo and don't say Made in China anywhere. I would recommend them and replace these in a heartbeat if anything happened to them.

Very nice heavy weight steel. Goes well with my All-Clad pots and pans and should hold up for many many years. Do not hesitate to purchase!

Tongs to me are like American chopsticks, but of course far easier to use. It is the most often used cooking utensil for me, regardless of if I am cooking in the kitchen, grilling, smoking, etc. The ability to grab small and large items, serve pasta, arrange items, turn things, mix, etc., is just priceless. As a welcome gift or to help someone starting to cook I almost always buy them All Clad tongs. Once they use it and understand the functionality they become hooked. The one drawback of the All Clad tongs is sometimes the lock at the hinge engages when you don't want it to engage, but the shape, quality, and function of these tongs are excellent. Tongs and spatula are my most used utensils and if I go traveling and plan on doing some cooking or grilling, these tongs are always packed to go with me. It is pretty funny how many places don't have or don't use tongs. I'm a food network fan and after seeing most of them using tongs I tried it out and never looked back.
