Jam Nuts, Jam Nuts are often used to lock or "jam" something in place without clamping against another object; Jam Nuts are typically low profile compared to a standard nut. Alloy 651 Silicon Bronze. ANSI B1.1 UNC and UNF Class 2B thread requirements. Silicon Bronze Resists corrosion even when submerged in salt water. Very high degree of corrosion resistance. Often used in power plant applications. Similar to low carbon steel in hardness.
