Is the 12 light chandelier right for your room?

A chandelier adds charm to the room and is the first thing someone notices when they walk into the room. On one hand, chandelier with intricate details and an antique finish can add a sense of drama to the room. On the other hand, a chandelier with a simple design can give a clean and modern look to the room. A chandelier comes in different shapes and sizes with a 12 light chandelier being one of the more popular choices.
One should make sure that the size and the brightness of the chandelier does not overwhelm the room in which it is placed. If the 12 light chandelier is for a dining room then its size should be half or a maximum of three quarters the width of the tabletop. The rule of thumb is to have 30-inch gap between the table and the fixture so that it does not block the view of the other side.
If the chandelier is installed in the master bedroom or living room, the right size of the chandelier can be obtained by adding the length and width of the room in feet and converting it into inches. For example, if the room measures 20- feet by 22- feet then a chandelier of 44-inches diameter would be appropriate.
The brightness of the 12 lights also plays an important role. If you go for a crystal glass enclosed chandelier then using clear bulbs will add sparkle in the room and if you choose linen shaded chandelier then using frosted bulbs will give the room a soft glow.
